On pourrait dire aussi une humanit\u00e9, je dirais presque une bont\u00e9, si le mot n\u2019\u00e9tait pas trop lourd \u00e0 porter\u00a0: c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire qu\u2019il y a, \u00e0 tout instant, dans les notations, une ironie qui n\u2019est jamais blessante, jamais agressive, une distance, un sourire, une sympathie.\u00a0\u00bb (Roland Barthes)<\/p>\n

Barons perch\u00e9s<\/em>, vicomtes pourfendus<\/em> ou chevaliers inexistants<\/em> traversent des villes invisibles<\/em> ou visitent un ch\u00e2teau des destins crois\u00e9s<\/em>\u2026 les n\u00f4tres peut-\u00eatre\u2026<\/p>\n

Italo Calvino donne la parole \u00e0 Marco Polo, le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre explorateur, pour d\u00e9crire avec une pr\u00e9cision et une po\u00e9sie incroyables ces \u00ab villes invisibles \u00bb, \u00e0 la fois r\u00e9elles et imaginaires, refl\u00e9tant r\u00eaves, d\u00e9sirs et peurs de l\u2019humanit\u00e9. Chaque ville est unique, avec ses propres caract\u00e9ristiques et son atmosph\u00e8re particuli\u00e8re, son propre langage, sa propre culture et ses propres habitants, leur exploration cr\u00e9ant ainsi un monde riche et complexe. Dans certaines villes nous ferons une halte pour entendre la musique de compositeurs amis de Calvino, notamment, Luciano Berio.<\/p>\n

Avec ces douze r\u00e9cits dont le succ\u00e8s en Italie fut immense, Calvino, qui a tout lu d’Einstein \u00e0 Jacobson et de Hegel \u00e0 la cybern\u00e9tique, passe \u00e0 un fantastique d’un autre genre : ce qu’on pourrait appeler la pr\u00e9histoire-science-fiction.<\/p>\n

Qfwfq, le h\u00e9ros de ce livre est vieux comme le monde. Rien de ce qui s’est pass\u00e9 depuis des millions d’ann\u00e9es ne lui est \u00e9tranger\u00a0: galaxies et dinosaures, syst\u00e8mes solaires ou \u00e8res g\u00e9ologiques\u2026
Une nuit, il observe comme d\u2019habitude le ciel avec son t\u00e9lescope et remarque un message venu d\u2019une galaxie de cent millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re qu\u2019il prend imm\u00e9diatement pour lui.<\/p>\n
